Tarence Farmer: Solid Decision

Scout.com caught up to Tarence Farmer Sunday afternoon after he arrived back at home in Houston, Texas. Farmer committed to The University of Alabama earlier this week without ever seeing the Tuscaloosa campus. He shares his thoughts about his visit to the Capstone.

"It was real good," Tarence Farmer said of his first visit. "I arrived late Friday evening where I met my host (Marcel Stamps). We ate and went back to the dorms and hung out."

"Saturday we toured the facilities and the school. It was all set up very nice. I was surprised at how easy it was to access everything. It is easy to get from the football complex to the stadium and your classes."

"We had a nice dinner at the stadium in one of the suites, and we went to hang out Saturday night. I spent most of my time talking to coach Applewhite, and I spoke to coach Saban a couple of times."

"I'm looking forward to getting there and getting started. I will probably arrive on campus in June."

The Tide coaches were in discussions of Farmer's position once he arrives.

"We discussed that, and I could play on either side of the ball," he said. "I prefer wide receiver, but I don't mind playing defense if I need to. I enjoyed it, and I liked all the coaches. I had a good time."

When asked if he is on track to qualify Farmer tells Scout.com, "Yes, everything is in order."

Did the visit to Alabama reassure him of his commitment, or will Farmer have to give further consideration before signing day?

"I'm solid in my decision," Farmer stated.
