"I originally committed to Alabama because I loved the tradition, the campus and the coaching staff," said Jennings Hester from Atlanta, (Ga.). "None of that really changed except for the coaching staff."
"All of my reasons for committing to Alabama stayed the same throughout the whole process. I really like the new coaching staff at Alabama."
The 6-3, 232-pound linebacker recorded 120 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two interceptions, five pass break-ups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery as a senior.
Hester notes his strengths and what he hopes to improve before arriving in Tuscaloosa.
"My strengths are my instincts and my knack for the ball," he said. "I am good at filling holes, and I am a solid tackler as well."
"I am always working on my speed and agility. Those are the two main areas I am always focusing on."
The Class 4A First Team All-State performer will arrive with the mindset of playing in the fall.
"As of right now I am going in there to play," Hester said. "They are not positive if I will red-shirt. There is so much going on that they have not had time to assess what all they have. They did tell me they plan to play me on the inside."
Hester signed his scholarship papers Wednesday at the ESPN Zone in Atlanta.
