Dora's Chavis Williams Inks with Tide

Defensive end Chavis Williams is a diamond in the rough type player who should excel for the defensive-minded coach Nick Saban. Williams has signed his letter of intent and faxed to the University of Alabama.

"Coach Saban came up here and won him over," said Dora head coach Johnny Wright. "He had already had an official visit, but they just really wanted him. They really wanted him."

"They are just so limited on the scholarships right now. They offered, and he took it. He's excited about it."

Williams earned Class 4A First Team All-State as a defensive end. He will begin his career in Tuscaloosa as a linebacker for the Crimson Tide.

Williams was second on his high school squad with 123 tackles, and he finished with 393 receiving yards and six touchdowns offensively.
