SEC notes, week #2

The SEC continues its tough non-conference opening schedule this weekend with games against two of the nation's top-ranked teams. Alabama visits AP #2 Oklahoma while Florida plays host to AP #1 Miami (Fla.).

NO PLACE LIKE HOME ...

All five SEC teams that opened its season at home last week were victorious. Six more SEC teams open at home this week and Mississippi State opens its home schedule on Sept. 14.

Last year, SEC teams were 25-5 (.833) in non-conference home games. In all games last year, the SEC teams were 49-28 at home (.636) and 27-26 (.509) on the opponents' home field.

NO TURNOVERS = WIN

Five SEC teams committed one or less turnovers in its games last week and all five were victorious. Kentucky and Alabama did not lose any turnovers while Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida had one turnover each. The remaining six SEC teams had a combined 15 turnovers and were 2-4 in its games.
