Bama Softball Moves Up

The University of Alabama softball team moved up one spot in both the USA Today/NFCA Top-25 and the Softball Top-25 this week. The Crimson Tide moved back to No. 2 in the NFCA poll, matching the program's highest ranking achieved earlier this season. They moved back to No. 3 in the USA Softball Top-25.

Alabama went 4-1 last week with a doubleheader sweep over Louisiana Tech and a series win over No. 22 Georgia. The Bulldogs won the first game but UA stormed back with 19 runs in the next two for a pair of victories. On Tuesday night the Tide improved to 37-4 with wins over Northwestern State and Florida Atlantic.

The Tide of Coach Patrick Murphy has now been ranked in the Top-10 for 25 consecutive weeks and in the Top-25 in the last 69 polls.

Alabama will conclude this week with a three-game series against in-state rival Auburn. The Tide looks to stay in the hunt for its second straight Southeastern Conference Championship as Bama plays a doubleheader against the Tigers Friday at 5:30 p.m. CDT. The series will wrap up Saturday with a 2 p.m. start.
