DJ Will Have Surgery after Spring

Alabama senior receiver DJ Hall will have arthroscopic surgery at the conclusion of spring practice to repair a shoulder injury suffered during last year's Florida game, he told reporters on Thursday.

"They will probably just cut it open and get it scoped," Hall said Thursday after the Tide's seventh football practice of the spring.

Hall has been practicing throughout the spring, and expects to participate in Friday's scrimmage. He has not worn the black jersey for limited contact this spring, although his fellow senior receiver Keith Brown wore the black jersey on Thursday for the first time.

"I didn't want to miss spring because I knew if I did I would be so far behind," Hall said of why he waited to have the surgery. "I will take the summer to rehab."

Hall said he expected rehabilitation to take "two months at the most."

Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban was not available for media interviews on Thursday. After originally saying Friday's scrimmage would be open to the media on March 19, the University reversed itself earlier this week, noting that the scrimmage would be closed to public and media.
