Stanhope-Elmore Lineman Visits Scrimmage

Several prospects visited Alabama's first spring scrimmage at Bryant-Denny Stadium, including Stanhope-Elmore offensive lineman Jake Naylor.

Jake Naylor, 6-4, 295 pounds, played left tackle for the Mustangs in his junior season but said he could move inside to center or guard for his senior year. Stanhope-Elmore, coached by Jeff Foshee, begins its spring practice begins at the end of April. In addition to attending Friday's scrimmage, he attended junior day back in March.

"Their line looked really good," Naylor said. "The quarterback wasn't on target really, but that was Alabama's first scrimmage. They looked better than Auburn in my opinion."

Naylor, who grew up an Alabama fan, watched the scrimmage from the stand with his coach and several Stanhope-Elmore teammates, but said he spoke to Alabama offensive line and assistant head coach Joe Pendry at junior day.

"I met him at junior day and told him who I was and where I went," he said. "He said he'll keep an eye on me."

Naylor went to Auburn's A-Day game, and said he has received letters from Alabama, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Middle Tennessee, Houston, Arkansas and North Alabama.

"The Auburn coach said that he'll hopefully have me committed soon enough, but he said that to a group of folks. There were like for or five of us."
