Tyler Edwards Visits Alabama

Tyler Edwards, from Monroe-Ouachita Parish, (Louis.), is one of the best tight end prospects in the nation. He has received over a dozen scholarship offers including Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida and Miami. He took an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa last Friday, and he talks about his time on the Alabama campus.

"I went to Alabama Friday with Luther Davis," said Tyler Edwards from Monroe, (Louis.). "I was going to visit LSU and Georgia, but I was too worn out from the Alabama visit."

"I plan to visit LSU in a couple of weeks. I will be at Florida or Miami this upcoming weekend. I am not sure where I am going yet."

Edwards talks in-depth of his visit to The University of Alabama.

"When we got there I talked to all the coaches," he said. "I sat in the meeting with the players, and we went over all the plays. I went in the team meeting, and we went to the stadium for their scrimmage. It was a lot of fun."

"Their practice was the toughest practice I have ever seen. They were out there for four hours. There was a lot of intensity out there. I thought it was a good practice."

"I talked to coach Saban for a few minutes. He was just asking how me and my dad were doing. I talked to coach Middleton most of the time. I sat with him, and we went over the plays. He saw my film, and we do a lot of the same plays. I was familiar with a lot of the motioning they are going to be doing. I told him I was a little surprised about that."

"I think coach Middleton is a nice guy. He is funny. He was cracking me up the whole time. He played 10 years in the NFL. He knows what he is doing, and he is a good coach."

"The first visit I took to Alabama I saw all their facilities. They have a huge weight room. The thing I like the most is the dorm, the eating area and the study are all together. I like how that is all set up."

"I was watching them work-out, and they have a coach for every work-out station making sure nobody misses a rep. Their work-outs are pretty intense. The strength coach is intense. I like him. I got real close to all the coaches this past weekend. It really felt like home."

"I like that I can go over there and feel that I am at home. They have a good atmosphere, and it's a nice town. The weather is good. I met a lot of the players, and I think I would fit in good over there."

Edwards hooked-up with Alabama signee Luther Davis for the trip to Tuscaloosa.

"Luther texted me out of the blue one day," Edwards said. "We have been talking every now and then. He asked me the other day if he could ride with me up to Alabama. We are friends, and I like him. He is a nice guy. He really wants me to come to Alabama with him."

Edwards holds several scholarship offers, and he continues to add to his growing list.

"I got a new offer from Colorado," he said. "That offer came in last week. I have 15 offers right now. I would say Alabama is recruiting me the hardest right now. Miami, Florida and LSU are on me pretty hard too."
