Tide Third

The University of Alabama will finish the 2007 season as the third-ranked men's golf team in the nation as the latest and final Golf World/NIKE Coaches poll was released Wednesday. There was no change among the nation's top three teams as Georgia remained at number one, Stanford at number two and Alabama third. Georgia received 11 of the 23 first-place votes.

Alabama was ranked number one earlier in the year and has been among the nation's top teams all season.

NCAA Tournament competition is next for the Crimson Tide of Coach Jay Seawell.

Oklahoma State moved from No. 7 to No. 4 and Southern Cal made a three spot jump to round out the top five at No. 5. Lamar is No. 6, UCLA No. 7, Florida No. 8, UNLV No. 9, Coastal Carolina No. 10, followed by Clemson, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, East Tennessee State, BYU, Tennessee, Louisville, Arizona State, Tulsa, Charlotte, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Arizona, Georgia State and Florida State.

The poll combines the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America.
