Mark Barron Talks of Alabama Decision

Mark Barron, a four-star receiver from Mobile-St. Paul's, (Ala.), committed to the University of Alabama Friday afternoon. Barron waited until Saturday to talk about the decision.

"I called the coaches yesterday afternoon around 1:00 p.m.," Mark Barron said. "I only talked to coach [Nick] Saban. He said he was happy to have me, and that I made his day."

"I didn't see any reason for me to wait on making my decision. I always knew what I wanted to do."

"The main reason for me committing to Alabama is that it is where I fit in good, and I can play early. I like the support they get up there."

"Ivan [Matchett] and Destin [Hood] being committed played a little factor. I liked they were both committed, and it's good that we will be playing together in college."

Barron's 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame gives the athlete a wide range of positions on the offensive or defensive side of the ball.

"I have been talking to the coaches a lot about playing safety. That's been the main position we have talked about. I might play a little receiver at the same time. I don't really have a preference as to where I play," Barron shared. When asked of other visits Barron said, "I plan to take all five of my official visits. Right now I still plan on visiting Florida, LSU and probably Florida State."

"I feel like I made the right choice with Alabama. I don't see anything wrong with it. I would say I am solid to Alabama."
