"I wish I could have strapped it up...
"The visit went well," Melvin Ray said from Tallahassee, (Fla.). "It was real good. I have been there plenty of times, but this is the first time I have ever been to a game. It was crazy."
"I have heard about games in Tuscaloosa from people all over the country. It's one of the best. I saw a big difference from other schools I have visited. The fans are crazy. Not only is the stadium full, but throughout the city there are fans everywhere."
"It was fun to be around. They treated me like I was already there."
Ray talked about the atmosphere inside the stadium and how he feels about his commitment following the game Saturday night.
"The game was intense," he said. "Alabama started weak, but they came on strong. I enjoyed it. It was back-and-forth. It kicked up in the second half. The fans got loud and into it. They didn't come out on top in overtime. It was a tough loss."
"My feelings about Alabama are even better than before. I feel like I made the right choice. I was already convinced it was the place for me, and now I was finally able to experience the game day atmosphere. I wish I could have strapped it up yesterday."
"I think Alabama is a having a great season. That says a lot for recruits, like me, who are coming into the program. It's on the rise, and they are going to keep winning. Coach [Nick] Saban is a winner, and he is focused on getting the program back to the top."
"Before the game I was introduced to a few other commits. It was kind of funny I was the only skill player there at the time. Tyler Love was a guy I talked to a lot."
"I talked to some other big linemen. Tyler is a huge guy and really nice. He was a lot like myself. He was very nice and cool to talk to. He is easy to get along with."
"The coaches were happy and excited I was there. I talked to Coach [Kirby] Smart and A.C. Carter. I have a very close relationship with them. I spoke to them before and after the game. It was great."
"I chatted with coach Saban before the game. It was real fun to be around him. I am going back a few more times before my official visit. After talking to coach Saban he said it would be better to visit in December. He said I could spend more time with them."
"I am looking at the schedule, and I at least want to get down a few more times this season."
Ray is still recruited by his hometown school as well as other SEC schools who are trying to lure him away from Alabama.
"Florida State is still recruiting me. Florida and LSU are still recruiting me heavily as well. I haven't decided yet if I am going to take any more visits. I know for a fact I am going to Alabama. I will know for sure after the season if I will visit anywhere else," he said.
When asked about Alabama's upcoming game against Florida State Ray said, "That's going to be a very big game. I don't know if they have ever played each other. Everyone around here has been saying a lot about the game. I hear it all of the time. They won't leave me alone about it. I think Alabama should come out on top."
Ray is having a spectacular season and has put up some big numbers in the first three games.
"The season is going great. We are 3-0. We have a tough game this week against Trinity out of Jacksonville. They are pretty good," he said.
"I have been doing good. The first game I had four catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns. I sat out the fourth quarter. The second game I had five catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns. I didn't play the fourth quarter. The last game I only had three catches for 40 yards and sat out the fourth quarter as well."
