Lester Talks about his Commitment to Alabama

The University of Alabama offered Robert Lester a scholarship this week after a great start to his senior season. The thought process was a short one for the safety prospect from Foley, (Ala.) as he committed to the Tide Friday morning.

"I committed to Alabama today around noon," Robert Lester said. "Coach [Nick] Saban called the school. I told him I was ready to go ahead and commit to Alabama."

"Coach Saban said he was very excited about my decision and ready to get me up there."

"I had no pressure on me [to commit]. "It's a place where I want to play and feel comfortable. It's a school close to home, and I know a lot of people who go there."

Scout.com's No.1 wide receiver and teammate of Lester's, Julio Jones, will wait a little longer about announcing his college choice. A signing day decision is expected.

"I really don't know what he is going to do," Lester said. "If he decides Alabama is the best place for him then that's his choice. I would really like to play with him in college though."

Lester also shared, "I still plan to take all my visits, but I consider myself a solid commitment to Alabama."
