Go You Girl!

Although Alabama fans include both men and women, in many cases the women are at a disadvantage because generally speaking they did not play football. All men didn't either, but a sizeable number played at some level.

For those women who would like to know more about the game, Joe Kines is gong to provide the information. The former Alabama defensive coordinator is helping out women fans and Child Abuse Prevention Services of Tuscaloosa, which will benefit from the event.

The "Girlfriend's Guide to All Things Football" is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CDT Thursday at Bryant Museum (pre-class "tailgate" and fashion show) and the Bryant Conference Center. The pre-class event will last until about 7 p.m. and the class about 30 minutes.

Tickets are $30 for a single and $50 for a female pair and may be obtained by calling (205) 758-1159 or on line at http://www.capstuscaloosa.org or at the office of Dr. David Henderson, 204 McFarland Circle North.

Kines will cover plays, formations and strategy. At the conclusion of the class, attendees will be eligible for a drawing for a pair of tickets to this year's Alabama-Auburn football game.

Child Abuse Prevention Services is a nonprofit agency supported by United Way of West Alabama.
