Terrance Cody Talks of Decision

Terrance Cody, Scout.com four-star defensive tackle from Perkinston-Mississippi Gulf Coast, (Miss.), gave his commitment to the University of Alabama last week, but decided to publicly announce his decision today. He talks about the decision to commit to the Crimson Tide.

"I told the Alabama coaches last week about my decision," said Terrance Cody. "I talked to coach [Ron] Middleton. He was real excited when I told him. We have a good relationship with each other. We are close, and I like him."

"I haven't had a chance to speak to coach [Nick] Saban yet since my commitment. He was in a press conference last week when I committed. I have talked to him before a few times. I like him."

"I committed because of the atmosphere, the history and the coaching staff. Those things really stood out to me about Alabama."

"The only game I have been to at Alabama was the Georgia game. I really like their stadium. It was big. They had a lot of people up there."

"The Alabama coaches want me to come in as a defensive tackle. I am about 395-pounds. I know the coaches want me to lose some weight. They would like for me to get down to about 370-pounds."

"I feel like my biggest strengths are my quickness and strength. I really want to improve on my conditioning."

"I am going up to Alabama next weekend for my official visit. I don't plan to visit any other schools. I am solid. I chose Alabama over Tennessee, Florida State, USF, Ole Miss and Auburn."
"I will graduate from junior college in May."
