Damian Square
6-3, 268, LB/DT
Yates (Houston) Texas
Scout.com four-star recruit

Why Alabama?: "I chose Alabama because I know in the near future we are going to win a National Championship," Square said.

On Nick Saban as a recruiter: "Coach Saban is a great recruiter. He tells you everything straightforward. He keeps in contact as much as he can. He tells you what you need to know and not just what you want to hear."

Coach Jeff Ceasar (asst. head coach): "He has a great knowledge of the game. He's a kid that is capable of going in and playing as a freshman, and he has big play capability in him."

"He's a great kid. In the four years that I had him I never had a problem with him. Never had an issue with him. He always worked hard to strive to do the best that he could on and off the field."

"He went down to the football camp [Alabama] in the summer time and realized that was the perfect fit for him. He worked hard at the camp and saw the direction that Alabama has their program going in, and he figured he'd be a good fit for the program."

"By me being able to see him grow, he was great to coach. He came in, and he had aspirations to be good. He was very attentive, and he had a good knowledge of the game of football. He was self-motivated in that sense and all you had to do is show him and get him going in the right direction. He had leadership ability and skills also."

"I see a great future for him at the next level. All he has to do is go in and learn the scheme of what's going on and don't take any plays off. He should be able to go in and play if he does the things that Alabama has asked him to do."

"He went to the camp, he got a great connection going with the D-Line coach Coach (Bo) Davis over there and that's what made him do it [commit]."

"He'll be a D-lineman for Alabama which is what he's been in the past."
