Destin Hood
6-2, 182, WR
St. Paul's Episcopal (Mobile)
Scout.com three-star recruit

Why Alabama: "Alabama is a real nice place. It feels like St. Paul's to me. It's a good place for me. There are a lot of people from here going there. The academics are great. It's a good place to make myself better and become a better player."

Coach Mike Bates:"Destin might be the best pure athlete on the team when it gets right down to it. He's got great hands. He can jump. He's got great speed. He's a physical kid, very physical."

"He's got an infectious smile. He's a very personable young man and very articulate. If you don't like Destin there is probably something wrong with you. He's just that type of kid. He's a great kid. Love to be around Destin. I'll really miss him."

"I think the sky is the limit for him. He can play on either side of the ball. He can play corner if you need him to. I'm sure he could play safety. He can play receiver. He can just do so many things. He's really good at what he does."

Bio: Hood recorded 51 receptions for 963 yards and 15 touchdowns and named as an All-State performer. The senior was also recognized by the Press Register in their statewide Elite 18 and their Southeast Super 120 and ScoutSouth.com Star of Alabama. As a junior, Hood caught 25 passes for 650 yards and scored 12 touchdowns.

Analysis: Hood is standout on offense and defense. After his performance in the state play-offs he could see his future career at defensive back. He is a lock-down cornerback and loves press-coverage. He is excellent as a receiver as well with great hands and runs excellent routes.
