Huntsville (Huntsville)
Scout.com three-star recruit

Why Alabama?: "It was my dream. I also expect to win a National Championship while we're at Alabama. I think every one of the guys coming in has that expectation. I believe they are willing to work hard enough to accomplish that goal," Neighbors said.

On coach Nick Saban as a recruiter: "He is a hell-of-a recruiter He is all over the place all of the time. He has been at Alabama just more than a year and look what he has done for recruiting. He gets a lot of help from his staff, and I really respect all of those guys. They all work really hard, but I think coach Saban is the best recruiter in the country. He has recruited well everywhere he's been."

Coach Kevin Wieseman:"It's been a great pleasure and honor to be associated with he and his family. A great football family as we all know grandfather [Billy] and father [Wes] and now the third generation, Wesley, is going to Alabama."

"Wesley is of the highest character. He was voted our team captain again this year, permanent team captain. He was voted permanent team captain last year as a junior, which is the first time in my 15 years associated with Huntsville High School that a junior has been voted team captain."

"He's respected by his teammates at all levels, and somebody that you know is going to give 100-percent every time he's out there."

"I think he would have been supported any way he would have gone (laughing), but that would have been very interesting. It's easy to say that than to actually see it happen [on Wesley Neighbors going to another school]."

"I really see somebody, and I'm not saying other players are committed or not committed, but I think he truly understands what it means to be an Alabama football player. He understands what growing up in the state being a football player at a major university is."

"When it comes to the fourth quarter he is out on the field, and he understands the importance of finishing the game."

"Leadership, desire, making sure the task is complete [Wesley's strengths]."

Bio: Neighbors had 62 tackles his senior season and was named an honorable mention ASWA All-State defensive back. The senior also represented Alabama in the MS-AL All-Star game and Press Register's Elite 18. Neighbors recorded 95 tackles and four interceptions as a junior.

Analysis: Neighbors is a safety who supports the run and plays the pass very well. He has good range and instincts. He takes good angles in run support and shows excellent closing speed and fundamentals when it comes to tackling. He does a nice job of reading the quarterback's eyes and breaking on the ball in coverage. He covers a lot of ground, and he will come up and hit you. Neighbors also shows good hands and is always around the ball.
