Alabama Lands Four-Star Running Back

Trent Richardson, four-star running back from Pensacola-Escambia County, (Fla.), expected to take a few visits this summer before making his college decision. He decided against the plan as he rolled with the Tide Monday morning.

"I committed to Alabama today," said Trent Richardson. "I called coach Nick Saban a few minutes ago. He was real excited about my decision. He said I was the running back he wanted to commit in this class."

"I told coach Saban I am committed, but I would still like to take my visits. He said that was fine, and he had no problem with that. I am glad to have my decision over with. It takes a lot of pressure off of my back."

"I committed to Alabama because of the class they had last year, and the chance to come in to play early. I think Alabama is going to be very tough to beat in the next few years. I talk to a lot of guys, like Julio Jones and Jerrell Harris, all the time. Those guys are just like me. I feel real comfortable around them."

"My recruiting coach was Lance Thompson. I really like him a lot. We have a real good relationship. I likecoach Saban a lot as well. He has always been straightforward with me."

The 5-foot-11, 215-pound prospect has produced over 30 scholarship offers and still expects to take official visits.

"I still plan to take my visits," Richardson said. "I am suppose to visit Florida June 4, but I don't know if I will go right now. I plan on getting up to Alabama this summer. I want to go to their camp, and get up there to hang out with some of the boys."

"I plan to visit LSU. They are still one of my top schools. I have a really good relationship with their running backs coach."
