Alabama Lands Big RB

Mike Marrow, three-star fullback from Toledo-Central Catholic, Ohio, made a surprise visit Friday to Tuscaloosa. Marrow decided to commit to the Crimson Tide before leaving a meeting with Alabama head coach Nick Saban. He committed to the SEC program over offers from Penn State, Nebraska and Wisconsin.

"I committed to Alabama today," said Mike Marrow. "I like all the coaches. I like coach [Nick] Saban and what all they have to say. The coaches told me what I would do if I came there."

"The academic buildings were real nice. They said they want to use me as a big running back. They said when they watched my film I was the best big running back in the country."

"I was with coach Saban when I committed. We had a long meeting. He asked if I wanted to commit now. I said yes. He said he wanted to jump when I told him."

"This is my first visit. I love it down here. The people are nice. I like it a lot. The facilities are real nice."

"It feels good to be committed. I love being able to play running back for Alabama. Wisconsin and Penn State had offered me as a running back as well."

"I am not going to take any other visits. I am straight with Alabama. I was supposed to visit some other schools, but I wanted to see Alabama first. The visit ended everything for me."

Marrow rushed for more than 800 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in 2007 at New Albany High School.
