The SEC continues to be the nation's most competitive conference. In 25 intra-conference games, 18 have been decided by 10-points-or less. It is the most number of games and the highest percentage of games decided by that margin in the nation this season. The average margin in an SEC game this season is 10.36 points per game, which is also the lowest of any conference in the nation.

In 48 home games, SEC teams have drawn 3,739,121 fans, an average of 77,898 fans per game. Stadiums have been filled to 98.62 percent of capacity during the first eight weeks of the season.

The SEC is the only conference to have had all 12 of its teams receive votes in either the AP or USA Today polls this season. The SEC has also had more teams ranked in the top 25 of the AP and USA Today polls this season (8) than any other conference.

This weekend's LSU-Georgia matchup will pit the two winningest teams since 2003. In the 5+ years, LSU's overall record is tops at 61-11 (.847) while Georgia's is second at 57-15 (.792).

(The SEC notes failed to include that this weekend's Alabama-Tennessee game matches the two winningest teams in SEC history, Bama number one and the Vols number two.)

The Alabama-Tennessee series is the 11th closest in the SEC since 2000, with an average margin of 10.38 points per game.

Kentucky senior cornerback David Jones is this week's SEC Community Service Team Player of the Week and will be featured during Raycom Sports' telecast of the Kentucky at Florida game.

LSU's PK Colt David has moved into the top 10 in career points scored in the Southeastern Conference with 316. He is also second in SEC history in PATs made with 175.

Arkansas' 20 play drive against Kentucky on Saturday night was the longest of the season in terms of plays in the SEC. There have been 11 offensive drives in the SEC of 15-plays-or-more with only three resulting in touchdowns (others: 6 FGs, 2 turnovers).

The average SEC game this season is averaging 3:11, three minutes below the national average game time of 3:14. The average number of plays in an SEC game is 127.2, well below the national average of 137.7.
