Notes On Alabama SEC Baseball

Notes from Alabama's baseball weekend series against Georgia. The Crimson Tide won the series against the nation's number-one ranked Bulldogs, but the Crimson Tide lost the final game on Sunday.



Alabama (11-5, 2-1 SEC) opened the season by taking its first SEC series from No.1 ranked Georgia. The Tide won 9-5 and 11-5 on Saturday, but missed out on the sweep Sunday, with a 10-8 loss.

Senior right-fielder Kent Matthes (Orlando, Fla.) hit his NCAA-leading 13th home run on Sunday. He has 13 home runs in 15 games this season. He also extended his hitting streak to 15 games.

Freshman left-fielder Taylor Dugas (Lafayette, La.) extended his hitting streak to seven games with a 3-for-5 performance on Sunday.

Sophomore second baseman Ross Wilson (Hoover) had two hits and one RBI in the series finale to extend his hitting streak to eight games.
