Chat tonight with former Tide players

Two former Tide players with join for a chat session at The two players have turned their experience into coaching careers. Read more of what is taking place Sunday night.

Shannon Felder, head coach of Donoho High School in Anniston, Ala., will join chat Sunday night from 7:00-8pm.

Felder played for the Tide from 1984-1987 as a two-sport athlete (baseball, center fielder), and a former teammate in Tuscaloosa with Mike Shula. Felder played under two head football coaches, Ray Perkins and Bill Curry.

Felder served as an assistant coach at Central of Tuscaloosa, Thomasville, and head coach at Wilcox Central.

Donoho's 2006 team allowed only nine points during the regular season with eight straight shut-outs.

Felder's words to live by. "Become what you believe and know God has more in store for you."

Todd Bates, defensive line coach at Oxford (Ala.) High School, will join chat at 8:15 pm (CST). Bates also leads the strength and conditioning program at Oxford as well as teaches Business Tech.

Bates owns Kinghouse Power T, a t-shirt company, and hosts the annual Todd Bates football skills camp in Heflin, Ala. He is also known for writing inspiring poetry. He is married to La'Tesa, his college sweetheart, who served as a Bama Belle during her time at the Capstone.

Bates played for the Tide from 2001-2004 and was recruited by coach Mike Dubose. He played for head coaches Dennis Franchione, (Mike Price) and Mike Shula.

Bates was a defensive end for the Tide and elected permanent team captain in 2004.
