All-SEC Volleyball Has Tide's Webster
Alabama senior Brooks Webster, a senior outside hitter who was All-SEC as a junior, was named to the pre-season honor squad. She is a 6-0 star from Baltimore, Maryland.
Webster was an honorable mention All-America as a junior for Coach Judy Green's Crimson Tide. She led the SEC in kills per set with 4.04.
The coaches preseason All-SEC team consists of a minimum of nine players, which are voted on by the league coaches. Florida led all schools with three selections, followed by Kentucky with two. In addition, Alabama, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee all had student-athletes named to the team.
Webster was one of only two players from the Western Division chosen to the coaches All-SEC team. The other was Britnee Cooper of LSU.
Alabama opens the season against St. Louis University in the St. Louis Active Ankle Challenge August 28. Bama will meet two-time defending national champion Penn State the second day of the tournament.
The Tide's first home match will be against McNeese State in the first round of the Bama Bash September 4.
