Defensive coaches on the job

Defensive backs Coach Chris Ball worked with Tide Head Coach Mike Price at Washington State. Defensive Coordinator Joe Kines was hired away from Florida State. Former Texas A&M Coach Buddy Wyatt will coach defensive tackles while Paul Randolph was hired away from West Virginia to coach Bama's defensive ends.

Buddy Wyatt coached the defensive line last year at Texas A&M but found himself looking for a job when former Aggie coach R.C. Slocumb was forced out. Wyatt will handle defensive tackles for the Tide.

Chris Ball coached the defensive secondary for Mike Price at Washington State. Young and energetic, Ball will handle the same duties at Alabama.

The final addition to the Alabama staff, Paul Randolph will coach defensive ends for the Tide. Randolph coached last year at West Virginia. A native of Georgia, he'll work to expand Alabama recruiting into the Atlanta area.

With Coach Wyatt looking on, Defensive Coordinator Joe Kines fires up the Tide defenders. Having worked with Ray Perkins, this is Kines' second stint at The Capstone. Kines will also coach linebackers.

Head Coach Mike Price heads to Wednesday's conditioning session/team meeting in the Crisp Indoor Facility. Determined to build the best possible staff in terms of ability and chemistry, Price did not rush the hiring process.
