Tide Senior SEC Gymnast Of Week
"I can't say enough about Ricki," Alabama Coach Sarah Patterson said. "She led us off on three events and set the tone for our team as we closed out the meet. To have that kind of performance from our leadoff person was tremendous for our team."
The three-time All-America won the all-around with a 39.35 and was second on the balance beam and third on the floor exercise. The Annandale, Va. native was the Crimson Tide's leadoff on three of four events. Lebegern, who is also a three-time SEC Champion, leads the Crimson Tide in routines in competition with 171 in her career along with 38 all-around performances.
It marked the second time in as many weeks that an Alabama gymnast has earned SEC honors with Ashley Sledge starting out her rookie season by being named SEC Freshman of Week.
Lebegern, Sledge and their Crimson Tide teammates are home again Friday facing 2009 NCAA Super Six Team Arkansas at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum or online at RollTide.com.
