Alabama Swimming In Home Finale

The Alabama swimming and diving team closes out its home schedule Saturday against New Orleans starting at 12:30 p.m. It will be Senior Day in the Alabama Aquatic Center as the Crimson Tide honors its 19 seniors.

"This is a pretty special class," Alabama head coach Eric McIlquham said. "To have that many athletes come in together and stay together this whole time and finish their careers together, it's not something you see all the time."

In addition to closing out its home schedule, Alabama is also closing in on the postseason. The Tide has one more regular season meet, next Saturday in Athens, Ga., against Georgia and South Carolina, before the Southeastern Conference Championships, which will also be in Athens.

"We're closing in on the championship season, which is what we've been focused on since the first day of practice, and really since the final day of last season," McIlquham said. "Everything we've done to this point is focused on being at our best come SECs and NCAAs."

Alabama is led by its senior class, including All-Americans Mark Randall, Aaron Fleshner and Agustina de Giovanni, SEC Champion Elizabeth Hughes as well as Riley Boulden, who is ranked first in the Southeastern Conference in the 100 breaststroke along with NCAA Championship participants Brooke Baldi and Hannah Brinks.

The Crimson Tide's 2010 senior class includes: Allyson Angle, Baldi, Boulden, Luke Boutwell, Brinks, De Giovanni, Drew Finelli, Fleshner, Hughes, Kyle Lee, Clint McClendon, Sam Morgan, Randall, Julie Richards, Nicole Roberts, Elle St. Charles, Shannon Van Hoy, Kacey Weddle and Maggie Zblewski.
