Alabama Baseball Wins Slugfest

A five-run seventh inning, keyed by Cody Trotter's two-run double, broke open a tie game and ultimately propelled the Alabama baseball team to a 15-8 victory over the Stony Brook Seawolves on Friday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Alabama (9-1) built a commanding 8-2 lead over the first three innings and held an 8-3 advantage entering the seventh before the Seawolves (2-3) tied the game with five runs in the top half of the inning.

Alabama answered right back with five runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 13-8 lead, before scoring two more in the eight to round out the scoring. Tyler White picked up his second win of the season, surrendering just two hits and striking out two over 2 2/3 innings of scoreless work.

Alabama starter Adam Morgan worked six innings and allowed three runs and six hits with two strikeouts and a career-high six walks, but did not figure into the decision.

Alabama and Stony Brook will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1:05 p.m. CST.
