These Players Will Miss A-Day

Volleyball is a fall sport, but it has the opportunity to have some spring matches as training. The Alabama volleyball team will take part in a trio of tournaments as part of its 2010 spring schedule as announced by head coach Judy Green on Tuesday.

Alabama kicks off its spring slate Saturday hosting the Bama Spring Fling. There are currently seven teams signed up for the all-day event including Alabama, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Mississippi State, Samford and Southern Mississippi. Each team will have the opportunity to play five matches that day with action beginning at 10 a.m. CDT at the Student Recreation Center.

The Tide will then take part in its final two spring dates on the road beginning with a tournament at Florida State on Saturday, April 10. Included in the list of participants are Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Troy and Tulane.

The Tide will play Florida State, Georgia Tech and either Troy or Tulane. Alabama wraps up its season on Saturday, April 17 at the second annual Fiesta on Siesta Key (Fla.) beach tournament.

Times for these two events are to be announced.
