Four Tide Gymnasts Earn All-SEC

Four Alabama gymnasts have been named All-Southeastern Conference. All four Tiders were making a repeat appearance on the All-SEC list with seniors Morgan Dennis and Ricki Lebegern earning the conference honor for the fourth time, junior Kayla Hoffman for the third and sophomore Ashley Priess for the second.

All-SEC teams were based on finish at the SEC Championship. The individual event champions and the top three place finishers in the all-around were named first team All-SEC, while the event runner-up and next three finishers in the all-around were named to the second team.

Priess and Dennis earned first team honors after winning individual SEC titles last weekend in Jacksonville, Fla. where Alabama finished second as a team. Priess, who was named second team and freshman All-SEC last season, won the all-around and the balance beam and Dennis won her third SEC vault title in a row, bumping her career-total up to six individual conference titles.

Lebegern and Hoffman were both named second team All-SEC this season. Lebegern finished sixth in the all-around at her final SEC Championship while Hoffman finished second on the uneven bars and floor exercise.

Alabama is off from competition this weekend and will return to action as the No. 1 seed at the NCAA Central Regional Saturday, April 10 in Lexington, Ky.
