Torrance To Play In Portsmouth
Mikhail Torrance was the top player for Coach Anthony Grant's first Alabama basketball team last season, earning second team All-Southeastern Conference.
Torrance averaged 15.6 points for the Crimson Tide last season, shooting 47 per cent from the field with 5.1 assists per game. He finished his four-year career with 940 points and was the program's second most accurate free-throw shooter, converting on 86.2 per cent of his career attempts.
Play in the tournament begins today with games scheduled Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Torrance, a 6-5, 210-pound guard from Eight Mile, will compete as a member of the Portsmouth Partnership squad and is the only point guard on the eight-man roster.
