Alabama Softball Routs Jackets

The Alabama softball team continued its winning ways by defeating No. 9/7 Georgia Tech 13-1 in five innings Wednesday night at the Alabama Softball Complex. With the win the Crimson Tide has now won 16 straight and ends the month of April without a loss.

Alabama improves to 40-9 on the season while Georgia Tech moves to 43-9 overall.

Four different Tide players collected multi-hit games and three drove in two or more runs as Alabama pounded out 12 hits to down the Yellow Jackets.

Alabama pitcher Kelsi Dunne fanned eight and allowed one run on two hits to improve to 21-4 on the year.

Charlotte Morgan tallied two hits and two RBI while Amanda Locke collected two hits, including a three-run homer to pace the Tide at the plate. Kendall Dawson drove in three and Keima Davis recorded two hits to add to the Alabama attack.

UA will return to the diamond on Saturday for a doubleheader against Tennessee. The two teams will square off at 3:00 p.m. with the second game slated for 6:30 p.m. The nightcap will be televised on ESPN.
