Florida Pounds Alabama, 9-3

The Alabama baseball team dropped a 9-3 decision to the No. 3 Florida Gators on Friday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium in front of 4,387.



The Crimson Tide ( 28-18, 9-13 SEC)pounded out 10 hits through eight innings but were unable to notch any runs until scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth to avoid the shutout. Alabama freshman left fielder Andrew Miller connected on his first career home run to lead of the inning.

From there, Alabama plated two more runs before Brant Hendricks struck out with the bases loaded to end the game.

The two teams meet tomorrow in Game 2. First pitch is set for 2:05 CDT.
