Huge O-Lineman listing Bama

A huge dominating guard who has very good footwork and has incredible speed for his size, Evergreen's Brandon Montgomery should be one of the premier offensive linemen in the state next year.

Montgomery (6-3, 340, 5.00) is very efficient on trap blocks, but he can be a Mack truck when he pulls and becomes the lead blocker on sweeps.

Working mainly offensive guard for Hillcrest High School, Brandon Montgomery's legs look like tree trunks and his massive calves help him destroy an opponent at the point of attack.

Playing both ways in most games, he also lines up at defensive tackle. Some scouts say that may eventually become his domain.

Montgomery's high school coach says he registered 106 tackles at defensive tackle as a junior, but his heart appears to be on offense. Montgomery is still a raw talent whose best football lies ahead.

Naturally strong, Montgomery has tremendous strength (BP-385, SQ-585). He graded 82 percent blocking efficiency as a junior. He was credited with 88 knockdown blocks that year, which is a testimony to his explosion off the ball.

Montgomery carries a 2.8 GPA in the classroom, but he plans to retake an algebra class, which will raise that mark. He has been declared an L/D (learning disabled) student, which means he will be allowed to take the ACT orally and untimed. Montgomery's coach expects him to be a full qualifier.

The Evergreen native plans to camp at Alabama this summer. He lists early interest in Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
