Tide Disappointed In Hooters Finish

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – After leading the first two rounds of the Hooters Women's Collegiate Team Championship presented by the National Golf Coaches Association at Achasta By Reynolds, Alabama's Brooke Pancake and Jennifer Kirby were surpassed on the final four holes Thursday afternoon and finished the inaugural event in second place at 13-under-par.

The Alabama team of Pancake and Kirby held a two shot lead over the Wake Forest duo of Cheyenne Woods and Michelle Shin with four holes to play, but saw the lead quickly disappear when Woods rolled in an eagle putt on the 15th hole to square the teams at 13-under.

Following birdies from Shin on 16 and Woods on 17, Pancake had an opportunity to pull her team back to within a stroke heading to the 18th tee, but lipped out a three-foot birdie attempt on the par-3 17th and trailed by two with one hole remaining.

After pars by both teams on the final hole, Woods and Shin captured the title at 15-under-par.

Stetson's Alexandria Buelow and Lauren Cate finished third, followed by Virginia's Brittany Altimore and Elizabeth Brightwell in fourth.

Florida's Jessica Yadloczky and Evan Jensen placed fifth.
