Thomas Hennigan comes to App State as one of North Carolina’s historical leaders in receiving, ranking fourth all-time in receptions (221) and 13th in receiving yardage (3,026). Hennigan moved all over the Northwest Guilford High School scheme, rushing for 1,077 yards, catching passes for 531 yards, and even throwing for 237 yards. He was responsible for 19 total touchdowns and finished the season with 1,875 total yards (208.3 per game).
Hennigan was a three-year selection to both the Greensboro All-Area and All-Piedmont Conference first teams.
Hennigan is a throwback receiver with a contact-first mentality. He’s a very strong technical route-runner but can also overpower defensive backs for jump balls and back-shoulder receptions. Hennigan is also a fierce blocker who never shies away from physical play. Hennigan is a player who is rarely brought down on first contact and prides himself on gaining every extra yard. Hennigan will be reminiscent of former Mountaineer Malachi Jones.

APP STATE MANIA ANALYSIS
Hennigan is a throwback receiver that can run by you but would honestly prefer to run over you. He has deceptive speed – game speed, most would call it – but when speed isn’t enough alone Hennigan is a load to bring down for secondary players. Expect him to be an incredible blocker on the edge and a sneaky deep threat down the field.
