Peters talks ASU visit

Oakland McClymonds High School has had a dream season thus far posting a 12-0 record and next week could be selected to the CIF Division II State Championship Bowl. Cornerback Marcus Peters has been one of the Warriors standouts and a coveted recruit among the soon to be Pac-12. Peters spent his bye week visiting Tempe and talked to Devils Digest about his recruitment with the Sun Devils.

"My visit to Arizona State went very well," said the 5-11 195 Marcus Peters. "I was there with my Mom and we both enjoyed it. I was hosted by Alden Darby and I met some other players too, I took a tour of the school and got to see the facilities.

"Talking to us about the academics was the most impressive part for me and my mom. That's going to be the most important thing in my decision. Everything else comes second after academics."

Peters indicated that he was offered by the Sun Devils a few weeks ago and the Sun Devils are joined by a slew of conference foes such as Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, Washington and Washington State.

The corner already visited Washington State in October and stated that he could be visiting Boise State this coming weekend or the next.

"I'm planning to visit Oregon State on January 14th and Utah on January 21st," Peters said. "I'm planning to take all my visits and after that make a decision."

Peters has posted over 50 tackles and collected five interceptions for McClymonds through 12 games. He was voted the Oakland Athletic League All-City MVP.

"The Arizona State coaches said that they like my speed (reported a 40-time of 4.48) and my long arms," said Peters. "I like Arizona State because I know I will have an opportunity to play early and they have a very good defense that plays man to man the whole game."
