"I really like coach Bryce Erickson who is recruiting me, he is a cool cat and really knows how to communicate with everyone."
Seau was named first team All-League, second team All-North County from a Mavericks team that finished 8-4.
"Loaded with natural size, athleticism, strength and talent, Seau has thrived on the high school level on his God given ability," said Scott Kennedy Director of Scouting at Scout.com. "But he is prone to take plays off and will need to dedicate himself to the game including weight training to reach his full potential. High risk, high reward type of player whose future is in his own hands."
The only other official visit Seau has scheduled is a trip to Kansas State this coming weekend, and the defensive end didn't indicate when he expects to make his decision.
"It's pretty much down to Arizona State and Kansas State," he said. "I want to go home and talk to my mom about the visit and see what happens."
Arizona State offered Seau a scholarship during his junior year. Arizona, BYU, Utah, Minnesota, and Colorado are some of the other schools that have offered him. The defensive end said that there was a reason why his recruitment has been generally low key up until recently.
"I just wanted to concentrate at one thing at a time," Seau explained." So now is the time to start working on this (recruiting). I wanted to get out of California but go to a place which has California weather and that's why I visited Arizona State. "
Seau mentioned two significant factors that will determine his final decision.
"Playing time and academics are the main things," he said.
