Taiese talks ASU visit

Wendell Taiese has appeared on ASU's recruiting radar late in the process. Nonetheless, the Oakland McClymonds offensive tackle left Tempe this past weekend with an offer and a lot to think about.

"It was my first time at Arizona State and it was a pretty cool visit," said the 6-6 340 Wendell Taiese. "I liked touring the campus and meeting the players. The best part was the academic program they run there and I liked how much they help their student athletes.

"It's a great football program and I like how physical and aggressive their offensive line is. It's a good offense all around."

Taiese reported weight room marks of 485 lbs. squatting, 415 bench pressing and 320 in the power clean.

The Sun Devils have offered the offensive tackle a scholarship this morning and for now Taiese remains undecided on his future.

"I'm going to talk it over with my parents and decide on signing day."

Taiese, who also has an offer from Washington State, was a starter for McClymonds who finished 12-0 season and won an Oakland Section title.
