Holmes who reported a 40-time of 4.54 said that the ASU coaches were impressed by his speed and were excited to have him join their team in July. As a senior he collected 46 catches for 893 yards and 11 TD's. He also had one rushing TD.
"Coach Erickson said that he didn't understand how a player like me didn't get recruited more than I did," Holmes commented. "He said I'm a sleeper. He said that he coached wide receivers like me before and he feels that the team is getting a steal by signing me and that the other schools in the Pac-12 will regret that they didn't recruit me."
Conversely, the Pasadena Muir standout, who signed his letter of intent with ASU, is also elated about his college choice.
"You can tell by watching them last year that they are a very good team," Holmes said of the Sun Devils. "They had a lot of close losses and with all the players they have coming back they are ready to turn this program around. I'm excited to be part of this program."
