Decision imminent for Blandin

Long Beach (Calif.) Poly wide receiver Josiah Blandin had already had the Sun Devils high on his list prior to yesterday's Junior Day. His unofficial visit to Tempe not only strengthen those sentiments but also convinced him that it is very likely the place he will call home in the next few years.

"It was a really good visit," said the 6-4 192 Josiah Blandin. "I loved the school, the facilities, the coaching staff…everything was just perfect. I hung out after practice with Alden Darby and Kevin Anderson and had a real good time with them. I have known them for a while and they are like my big brothers. I had lots of fun with them.

"When I talked to coach (Dennis) Erickson one-on-one he told me how much they wanted me and that I could play as a true freshman. They said they like my size, big hands and how well I ran my routes. I know I have to work on my technique more before I get there."

Erickson added that he would like Blandin's commitment sooner rather than later, and while the wide receiver stated last week that he could commit while on his visit to Tempe, it now appears that this decision will take place Monday afternoon.

"I was there with two of my coaches and we all liked it a lot," Blandin remarked. "I just wanted to go back home and talk everything over with them and my mom. I'm going to commit tomorrow after school."

As a junior for the 8-3 Jackrabbits Blandin collected 356 receiving yards averaging over 15 yards a catch and scored three touchdowns. Ironically, Blandin's only other offer to date comes from Northern Arizona but some of ASU's Pac-12 foes have been pursuing Blandin as well such as UCLA, Washington and Oregon State. Nebraska, Georgia and LSU.

Blandin added that he plans to visit ASU one more time this month (likely for the spring game) and also plans to attend ASU's camp in June. With a handful of other Long Beach Polly players in attendance yesterday the wide receiver stated that after his pledge to the maroon and gold he will work on having them join him in Tempe.

"We all felt at home over there," Blandin stated. "I'm going to try and have them all commit tomorrow. Why not?"
