The 43-22 win over USC was naturally the highlight of the wide receiver's trip and Lawler commented that he was equally impressed with both ASU's offense and defense in that contest, and can see himself fitting in the Sun Devils' passing game.
"I like the offense a lot because as a wide receiver you want to come to a spread offense," Lawler explained. "I know it will be good for me."
Lawler stated that he did consider himself a "soft commit" to ASU but said that: "Once I come for my official visit I could be solid (with his commitment). But ASU is my top school."
"I still have to take my SAT," Lawler explained. "A week after I take my SAT I want to visit Nebraska when they play Ohio State but I don't know if I'll get my score back that quick."
Lawler and the Highlanders are off to a 4-0 start to the season. The wide receiver reported that he collected 15 catches for 300 yards and two touchdowns, to go along with a 4-yard touchdown pass.
"(Wide receivers) Coach Broussard likes how I can stretch the field and be a deep threat, but he also likes how I can come underneath and catch the ball. He also likes my hands, my size and just my overall game."
