Rowe visits with ASU coaches

New Arizona State head coach, Todd Graham, may still be assembling his staff of assistants but that didn't stop some of the already newly hired Sun Devil coaches from making in-person contact before the recruiting dead period sets in. Long Beach (Calif.) Poly linebacker, Matthew Rowe, is one of the players who visited with the ASU coaches and he talked to Devils Digest about that meeting.

"It went well," said the 6-2 195 Matthew Rowe of his meeting with Arizona State assistant coaches Mike Norvell and Chris Thomsen. "They talked to me about the defense that they run and I like how fast it is and how they get after the quarterback. They said a lot of good things that made an impression on me."

The linebacker has scholarship offers from Washington and Nebraska, among others, and said that those two schools along with UCLA and Oregon are recruiting him in earnest in recent weeks. Therefore, does he plan to keep his pledge to the maroon and gold?

"I'm committed to Arizona State," Rowe stated, "but I'm still interested in other schools. I'm still open. I don't have anything set up for next month, but I'm planning to visit some schools.

"Other schools are contacting me, but I would say that Arizona State is recruiting me the hardest. I like Arizona State and the program but I just want to see what's out there before I make my decision."

In recent interviews to Scout.com Rowe indicated that he plan to make his final decision on signing day, February 1st 2012.
