"One thing that made an impression on me was that they said that I will graduate with a degree from Arizona State and that I will be part of a close knit family."
"I really liked the old (ASU) coaches," Hansbrough acknowledged, "but I think I would fit fine with the new coaches and do well in their offense. I just need to get to know them more. I'm still committed to Arizona State, but I'm looking at some options. I just want to get to know the Arizona State coaches better and make sure that I get along with them.
"They're going to come to visit me in January but I don't think I will be able to (unofficially) visit ASU."
Hansbrough missed three games late in his senior year with a high ankle sprain, but still was able to collect 1,238 yards on 131 carries prior to his injury and score 18 touchdowns as Bowie High School finished the 2011 campaign with a 9-4 record.
"Because I was hurt I can't be happy with how my season went," Hansbrough claimed, "but it was a good season. I'm getting better and I'm about 80 percent healthy now."
The lone star running back isn't expecting to make a final decision on his college of choice prior to his visit To Texas Tech, and is probably not going to visit any other schools in addition to the ones he has already visited.
"All the schools I visited – I know I have a chance to play there early," Hansbrough said. "I'm just trying to get know the coaches and the programs better and see what school I feel the most comfortable in and then decide from there.
"I'm probably going to make my final decision right before signing day."
