"I'm really enjoying being recruited by Coach Connelly and we get along really well," Daimler said. "I really like his recruiting style because he doesn't approach it only as a coach, but also as a mentor or a friend. He's really easy to get along with.
"So everything is going great with them (Arizona State). Out of all the schools that have offered me they are probably one of my top ones now. They always bring in good recruits, and I really like how their offense really gets after it and drive the football down the field. They are a team that plays in a great conference such as the Pac-12 and are always in the mix in that conference which I like."
The 6-7 275-pound Christian Daimler was 2nd Team All-District as a junior, and solely played right tackle for his team during that year. In his senior campaign he is scheduled to switch to left tackle. Daimler said that all of his suitors stated that he possess the classic physical attributes of an offensive tackle.
"My length and athleticism are some of my strengths," Daimler said. "I do a good job holding my blocks against the defensive linemen and protecting the quarterback because I can cover a lot of ground.
"I probably need to work on my overall strength and make sure that I always have a high motor. The schools recruiting me right now like where I'm at with my weight, and I know that I will get much stronger once I'm in a (college) workout program."
Daimler reported weight room marks of 275 lbs. benching, 375 squatting and 290 on the power clean.
"I do plan to visit Arizona State in the summer," Daimler commented. "I just don't know when yet. I do also want to take an official visit there during the season."
Daimler said that programs such as Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and TCU (all of whom he unofficially visited already) have been showing some interest and all told him that an offer could be forthcoming depending on his performance in the first few games of the 2012 season.
"It really doesn't bother me if I will play away from home," Daimler claimed. "As long as I feel that a certain school is where I need to be. Academics and my relationship with the coaches are the two main things I'm going to look for in a school, and I want to go to a program which is a contender every single year.
"I'm probably going to make my decision after my first three, four games and I hope to take some official visits before I do decide. I want to get my decision out of the way early so I can enjoy my senior year."
