Sun Devils lead for Otomewo

Jayme Otomewo will be the first one to admit that no school has recruited him harder than Arizona State has, and those efforts continued last night with an in-home visit from wide receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander. The Los Angeles Dorsey defensive back told Devils Digest that he has been very intrigued with the program throughout the recruiting process.

"The visit went very well and all the questions me and my family asked were answered," Otomewo stated. "Coach basically took us on a tour of the school and talked about things like the meal plans, the dorms, where do you live when you move out of the dorms, academics…just stuff that tells you what is like to be a student at Arizona State.

"I also got to see how much the fans there support the team. I've never visited there, but I will be visiting on January 11th."

While the 6-2 185-pound Jayme Otomewo hasn't set foot in Tempe yet, he has made it a point to follow the Sun Devils as much as he could throughout the season.

"I got to know Alden Darby and I talk to him a lot about the secondary there," Otomewo? remarked. "I really like the whole defense and how they play, but especially the secondary. I talked to (ASU safeties) Coach Ball and he's all about hard work which is a good because I am a hard working athlete. They are one of the best defenses on the Pac-12 and I'm excited to have a chance to possibly play there.

"Coach Ball said that I do have the size and speed to play for the team. They saw on film how I progressed from my junior year and saw my track meets too (Otomewo runs the 400m). He told me that if I work hard I will be on the field."

Aside from ASU, Otomewo will visit Hawaii on January 18th and Colorado is a possibility for an official trip as well although much will naturally depend on the new coaching staff that will be hired in Boulder later this month.

Otomewo claimed that he will take all of his trips before making a decision, but admitted that one program is standing out the most for him.

"Arizona State is on the top," Otomewo said. "I'm looking for a school that had a good education because that is very important for my mother. Once I get on campus for a visit I want to see what the campus is like, what the classes are like…I just want to experience what it's like to go to school there." ?
