Baker talks SJSU commitment

San Jose State picked up a commitment from one of the most under-rated receiver prospects out west as Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta wide out Colin Baker announced for the Spartans.

Colin Baker is a talented receiver who has very good size at about 6-2, 175 pounds, runs well, catches everything and looked good at both the SoCal NIKE Camp and the Pylon 7v7 Tournament.

He visited San Jose State over the weekend for Junior Day and committed earlier today.

"San Jose State is a great fit for me," Baker said. "I really liked it on my visit and it just feels like the best spot for me. Donte Williams was my main recruiter and we have a really good relationship. He told me they're only taking one receiver and they wanted me to be that guy.

"I want to be an impact player at an up and coming program and I think San Jose State will give me an opportunity to show the nation how good I am. The coaches showed me a lot of love on the visit, I could tell they were excited to have me up there. I just loved the atmosphere up there and I'm excited to be a Spartan."

Despite his commitment, Baker said he still plans to go through the recruiting process.

"I still want to do some camps and take my visits," Baker said. "I want to explore my options but I feel really good about San Jose State. I'm planning to visit Arizona State this weekend and I'm going to camp with USC, UCLA and California.

"I'm going to try and get out to a couple of out-state camps too but I'm not sure where those will be yet. Hopefully a few more schools will offer but like I said, I feel really good about San Jose State and I think I can do some great things there."
