"I really liked the camp," Baker said. "There were a lot of good players there and the coaches were really into it. I did OK with my technique but it was good to go the camp and it was kind of a reinforcement of some things. They (ASU coaches) told me that they like my speed and my route running.
"They definitely have a really good business school. The coaching staff is really cool. I like them a lot and they like me a lot. And I just see that they practice really fast and the tempo and they work with the players and really help them out."
The 6-0 175-pound Colin Baker collected 540 yards on 32 catches and scored seven touchdowns for the 11-2 Broncos. The vast majority of those receiving yards came via the throwing arm of Arizona State's incoming freshman quarterback, Coltin Gerhart.
Baker pledged earlier in the year to San Jose State, but a month ago he de-committed from the Spartans saying that he rushed into that decision. Naturally, he would love to team-up again with high school signal caller and is hopeful that his camp performance a couple of days ago could aid him in that quest.
"I definitely wanted to go out there to camp and make an impression," Baker stated. "The coaches said that after camp they were going up to the meeting room and decide if I get a scholarship. So I will talk to them in a couple of days and we'll see how that goes."
Baker hopes to end up in a Pac-12 school and that he didn't rule out an early decision is the right school came offering. Regardless of the timetable of his resolution, he will examine a few factors before his eventual announcement.
"The coaching staff," Baker said, "the atmosphere, and the academics are going to be a big part."
