2016 priority target overview: ILB

With a lot of linebackers set to return to Arizona State beyond 2015, the position is relatively well stocked for the future and looking to fortify that with a potent addition in 2016.

The Sun Devils are arguably as well stocked at the two inside linebacker positions (SAM/WILL) as they've ever been. They currently have eight scholarship players who play either SAM or WILL and only one of them, Antonio Longino, is a senior.

With ASU going four deep at SAM and WILL, we expect them to be selective in recruiting this year, probably taking just one signee.

Here's our look at the inside linebacker prospects who have offers from Arizona State.

Krys Barnes told us at The Opening Los Angeles Regional Sunday he's been calling ASU coach Keith Patterson on a weekly basis and wants to visit the school soon. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder claims offers from Boise State, Cal, LSU, Nebraska, USC, and Oregon among many others. We believe Barnes is worthy of his four-star status and projects to WILL but he could also play outside at Spur. He was linebacker MVP Sunday at the camp.

Darrian Franklin reportedly has backed off his Top-3 of Michigan, UCLA and USC and has reopened his recruitment. How good of a shot ASU has right now is unclear. Chip Long is recruiting the four-star prospect to Arizona State. He is expected to unofficially visit this spring. He was credited with 88 tackles as a junior.

One of the most productive linebackers in the class, Dontavious Jackson also bring a physical presence to a defense. As a junior, the 6-foot-2 235-pounder totaled 165 tackles, four pass break-ups and forced fumbles, 27 tackles for loss, six sacks, and one interception. He does seem to fall into the longshot category right now for ASU.

One of the best linebacker prospects in the class, Jeffrey McCulloch could play either inside position and maybe even land at Devil backer. The 6-foot-2 230-pounder claims over two dozen offers. He has only visited a few schools unofficially so far and maintains no favorites. He also plays basketball for Houston Aldine Davis.

McKinley Mitchell, who is being recruited by Bo Graham, has already collected early offers from schools such as Arizona State, Baylor, Navy, SMU, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. The 6-foot-3 220-pounder projects to either inside position for the Sun Devils. He has missed time in each of the past two season because of an ACL tear and a shoulder injury.

The Louisiana based Kevin Moore is a prospect who could play WILL or Spur. The 6-foot-2 195-pounder claims ten offers including ones from ASU, Miami and Kansas State. Moore, who actually plays quarterback for Lafayette Acadiana, is one of the best athletes among the linebackers ASU is recruiting. He is being recruited to ASU by Mike Norvell.

Travez Moore is a prospect who reminds us of current ASU linebacker Antonio Longino because of his position versatility. The Bastrop (La.) product figures to be a longshot for ASU since he also has offers from LSU and Texas A&M among others. He has already named LSU as his favorite.

Lokeni Toailoa projects best to SAM linebacker for Arizona State. He is on pace to graduate in December and expects to make an early commitment. He seems to mainly focused on Notre Dame, Washington, UCLA and USC.

A two-way prospect, Devin White is similar to versatile 2015 ASU signee Jaason Lewis. He could play either inside linebacker spot or Devil. The Louisiana based recruit has an offer from LSU and figures to be tough to get out of the SEC.

Bryce Youngquist is a recruit with strong ties to Arizona State, as his mother, an All-American in Sun Devil Track in 1991 and 1992. He could play either inside linebacker spot. He is being recruited to ASU by defensive coordinator Keith Patterson.
