With three seniors on the roster, ASU will be looking again to sign two or three recruits this year at the cornerback position.
Here's our look at the uncommitted cornerback prospects who have offers from Arizona State.
Treyjohn Butler is a four-star rated prospect but only claims five Pac-12 offers at this point. The Etiwanda (Calif.) cornerback recruit also excels in track and field. He has said that his former teammate and ASU signee Khaylan Thomas has been actively recruiting him for the Sun Devils.
Waco (Texas) cornerback recruit Eric Cuffee is a four-star prospect who claims an offer from Arizona State and over a dozen other programs including Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas. He appears headed to either the SEC or the Big-12 based on his public statements.
Obi Eboh from Southlake (Texas) Carroll is an impressive 6-foot-2 long framed cornerback prospect whom Todd Graham would love to put at boundary corner. Earlier this month he reportedly said that Arizona State was among the group of schools recruiting him the hardest.
Arizona State signed a cornerback from Chattanooga, Tenn., last year, Kareem Orr. Nygel Edmonds from the McCallie School will a difficult get. The 6-foot, 180 pound prospect has over two dozen offers including Auburn, Ohio State and the home state Volunteers.
Mechanicsville (Va.) Atlee cornerback J.J. Givens reportedly has offers from Arizona State, Louisville, Michigan, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. He has the size to play safety but projects well to boundary corner. He was credited with 32 tackles, four interceptions and 11 passes defended in 2014.
Jack Jones, a four-star cornerback prospect from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, claims an ASU offer as well as offers from Cal, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, UCLA and USC, among others. In March, he did not list the Sun Devils among the group of schools who he considers to be recruiting him the hardest.
According to Coffeyville (Kansas) C.C. cornerback recruit JaMarcus King, Todd Graham has reportedly been actively involved in his recruitment. The Alabama native also claims offers from North Carolina State, Southern Miss, Utah and Utah State among others.
David Long, a four-star cornerback prospect from Los Angeles Loyola High School, claims 17 scholarship offers at this point. He reportedly said in early March that Arizona State along with Duke, Michigan, UCLA and Washington as the schools recruiting him the hardest.
Sachse (Texas) four-star Jared Mayden has over two dozen offers but seems like a long shot for the Sun Devils. The top ranked Texas cornerback prospect has reportedly narrowed his choices to Alabama, Baylor, Florida State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon and TCU.
It seems very likely that Byron Murphy is headed out of state but he does play for Saguaro, the one local school where ASU has some entrenched success and he has said ASU is recruiting him hard. Texas A&M and USC are considered as possible destinations.
Pittsburg (Calif.) cornerback Jordan Parker reportedly told Scout.com in early March about his offers. “Arizona State and USC are standing out,” said Parker. “And then UCLA, Washington and Cal. I’m definitely considering all of those schools right now.”
C.J. Pollard a four-star defensive back prospect at Gardena (Calif.) Serra HIgh School told SunDevilSource.com about his offers, “It’s wide open right now,” Pollard said. “I like USC, ASU, Michigan, Colorado, Utah,Oregon State.” DelVaughn Alexander is recruiting him to ASU.
Hampton (Va.) Phoebus cornerback recruit Robbie Robinson claims over 20 scholarship offers, including ones from Clemson, Ohio State and Michigan State. The 5-foot-9 165-pounder projects as field cornerback in the Sun Devil defensive system.
Arizona State landed five-star Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes cornerback recruit Levonta Taylor’s teammate Jaason Lewis, in 2015. As a junior, Taylor was credited with 61 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, four interceptions (returned three for touchdowns) and 11 pass breakups. He seems destined for the SEC or ACC.
Arizona State has reportedly offered a pair of brothers, Andraez Williams and Rodarius Williams, both cornerbacks from Calvary Academy in Shreveport, La. The four-star Andraez claims offers from Cal, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska and Texas A&M among others.
Three-star prospect Rodarius Williams claims offers from Baylor, Cal, Mississippi State, Nebraska and Oklahoma. The brothers are both being recruited to Arizona State by Mike Norvell and Chris Ball. He projects as a field cornerback for ASU.
Beck visited Arizona State last weekend after being offered a scholarship by the Sun Devils several weeks ago. He said ASU is recruiting him harder than other schools and is his current No. 1 with an early decision possible. He's waiting to see if UCLA offers in the near future.
