Arizona State housemates D.J. Foster and Ellis Jefferson are competing against one another at the 9-receiver position (boundary side of the field) this spring and have impressed onlookers during the last two weeks, including in Saturday's scrimmage, in which Jefferson had four touchdown receptions.
Foster, a senior running back convert, and Jefferson, a sophomore who is somewhat in the mold of departed all-league star and potential first-round NFL Draft pick Jaelen Strong, are trying to elevate the wide receiver group in the year ahead.
It doesn't hurt that the two receivers also live with starting senior quarterback Mike Bercovici. The three players have demonstrated a lot of chemistry on the field though ASU's first seven spring practices.
